For lunch

I had company and when the meal was over I found I had an extra piece of steak. So the next day for lunch I sliced the steak very thin and made it into a steak salad with pita.

Steak Salad
Servings: 2
1 Steak sliced very thin (served chilled)
3 cups Romaine lettuce
1/2 tomato
1/2 avocado
2 hard boiled eggs

Dressing
3/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 clove of garlic
(minced or pushed through a garlic press)
1 teaspoon of lemon juice

Crispy Pita
Cut one pita into triangles
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet
Place pita triangles into the oil and allow them to get golden & crispy.
After removing them from the skillet, place on a paper towel and sprinkle a little sea salt over them.

The Little Black Dress

I have a little black dress hanging in the back of my closet
Rarely if ever do I buy a dress not knowing
when I will wear it, but this was
an exception.
It was beautiful, affordable
and I knew when I tried it on
that one day I would have
an evening where
I would
reach into the back of my
closet, pull it out and say,
"Hello, little black dress"

"It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory of fashion that heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure."

"Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress."

"Fashion passes, style remains."

A Sunday Picnic

Recently I have been having Sunday picnics with the two ladies I take care of~Sometimes we go to the park, lay a quilt down and sometimes we find a little picnic table and play cards after our meal is over. There is something special about a Sunday afternoon, when your shoulders are relaxed, and you are sharing a meal outdoors with someone or some-ones who are special to you.
I hope you find the time during this summer to go on a picnic with the ones you love.

Le Cafe De Paris

"Bonjour! Welcome to Le Cafe de Paris!
Here you will enjoy delicious and authentic french cuisine in a cozy bistro atmosphere! Our menus are perfect for early family breakfasts, business and more casual lunchs, dates and romantic dinners!
Bon Appetit!"
Last Friday evening I was introduced to this treasure here in Boise. When I walked into Le Cafe De Paris I could feel an instant smile tugging at my lips; it was so peaceful and the air smelled delicious! I  had only come for dessert but as I looked at the dessert menu I realized "only dessert" was going to be much more special than I had originally anticipated. I had theCrème brûlée with espresso and it was perfect. Walking  out the doors an hour later, all I could think was "When can I come back?"

Seattle

Mars Hill Church
"Mars Hill Church is a group of people who Jesus has saved and sent to be missionaries. We come together as one giant family to worship Jesus in many locations at many times. You can expect a time of prayer and singing to God as well as biblical preaching every Sunday."

Canlis Restaurant
"Canlis is a place of warmth and welcome. Everything you touch is genuine. Everything you see is authentic. The welcoming fireplace. Mr. Canlis greeting you at the front door. The invisible valet ticket. With elegant energy, Canlis is a place of beauty, serenity and hospitality. "

"Every Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m. in the Cathedral's nave, the all-male Compline Choir leads this formal choral service that is a Seattle tradition."

Alice in Wonderland

White Rabbit
I'm late / I'm late / For a very important date. / No time to say "Hello." / Goodbye. / I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

Alice
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

What is the use of a book, without pictures or conversations?

Through the Eyes of the Lens

I was going through my photos
yesterday, sorting, deleting,
saving, and most of all...
reminiscing.
The beauty of a photograph is
it captures a moment; it captures
an expression,a person, a location,
and it allows us to carry with us
a beautiful moment that might have
otherwise been lost.

The Sweetness of Sleep (Anthropologie)

Have you ever watched
a child sleeping?
Their calm breathing,
the peacefulness of the room...
This past weekend I was
very tired.
The morning I woke up
after having a full, restful
night of sleep, I stretched
my arms and watched the sun
shining through my window...
ah the sweetness of sleep.

Peach

"One day I would have all
the books in the world,
shelves and shelves of them.
I would live my life in a
tower of books. I would
read all day long and eat peaches.

Life is bag of peaches.
Be the juicy one.

Kiss the Girl

A few nights ago I was at a home where the Little Mermaid was on; I was in the kitchen and could hear "Kiss the Girl" and I couldn't help but smile; so here is the song of the day:)

There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got alot to say
But there's something about her
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss girl.

Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
It's possible she wants you too
There's one way to ask her
It don't take a word, not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl (kiss the girl)

Shalalalala
My oh my
Looks like the boy's too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the girl
Shalalalala
Ain't that sad
It's such a shame
Too bad, you're gonna miss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl (kiss the girl)

Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon
Boy, you better do it soon
The time will be better
She don't say a word
And she wont say a word
Until you kiss the girl (kiss the girl)

Taste and See

Coffee Drinks by Michael Turback
"At the turn of the nineteenth century Luigi Bezzera found a way to add pressure to the brewing process, forcing hot water and steam through the ground beans and into a cup, not only reducing brewing time but extracting more noble flavor, aromatics, and texture from the beans. His invention aroused a national cultural addiction and spawned the honorable profession of barista."

Working the Plate (The art of Food Presentation)
by Christopher Styler
"Food presentation goes beyond the arrangement of finished ingredients on a plate...A chef's style is defined by (and evolves from)  his or her work experience, personal aesthetics, and environment."
