Wonder

This morning I was sitting, with my
niece on my lap, and I put on music for
us to listen to. She sat stilly and just listened.
It made me think that for a child, sounds,
smells, touch, sights; all of it seems to
fill them with wonder...and I love that.
won der
1. a cause of astonishment or admiration

2. rapt attention or astonishment at something
awesomely mysterious or new to one's experience
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.
It is the source of all true art and science."
Albert Einstein

 for beauty is God's handwriting."

Fly Away

Maybe I get it from my mother, but I love birds.

I am not an avid bird watcher, nor do I make
bird calls, but they always seem to capture
my attention when they are in our backyard.
Thinking of birds, I found these pretty
bird pieces. I hope you enjoy.
Happy Friday!

Good Morning, Saturday

This morning is beautiful here.
I had my morning cup of coffee,
watched the pups playing outside
and now, I can hear my niece
 from the living room,
talking in gibberish.
I am a lucky woman.

Brother Lawrence (Sunday)

 Brother Lawrence
1614-1691
Brother Lawrence, born Nicholas Herman, a lowly and unlearned man,
who, after having been a footman and soldier, was admitted a Lay Brother
among the barefooted Carmelites at Paris in 1666, and was afterwards known
as "Brother Lawrence."   Despite his lowly position in life and the priory, his
character attracted many to him. He had a reputation for experiencing profound
peace and visitors came to seek spiritual guidance from him. The wisdom he
passed on to them, in conversations and in letters, would later become the
basis for the book, The Practice of the Presence of God.
"In order to know God, we must often think of Him;
and when we come to love Him, we shall then also
think of Him often, for our heart will be with our treasure."
"We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God,
who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with
which it is performed."
"Lift up your heart to Him, sometimes even at your meals,
and when you are in company; the least little
remembrance will always be acceptable
to Him. You need not cry very loud;
he is nearer to us than
we are aware of."

Friday Evening Song

I was sitting in the coffee shop this afternoon
and this song came on.
I loved the sound of it,
so this evening I played it for my niece, Emma.
She let me, twirl her around the room while it played,
and I think she liked it too:)

For Pristine

My  beautiful friend is getting married in August.
I was thinking of her today and wanted to wish her,
and her fiancé the best time planning for their wedding
and their marriage.
I'm so very happy for the both of you.
Dear Pristine,
I wish I could be sitting at the bookstore looking
through wedding magazines
with you at this time:)
Love,

Sunday (Easter)

Could life so end, half told; its school so fail?

A Normal Thursday

AM
7:00-Good morning:)
7:30-Chase the puppy around the table because he is stealing food
8:00-Hold my niece
9:00-Take pictures on my way to work to send to my friend
9:30-Read cards at Target that make me laugh
10:00 Start work

PM
3:00 Make a mozzarella, basil, tomato sandwich...it is so delicious!
4:00 Do some cleaning
5:00 Do my homework (I re-learned my personality type today)
6:00 Watch as hail and rain come pouring down
6:30 Watch as the pups come running into the house, not realizing they have been rolling around in the mud and grass...chase them with the towel to try and clean them off
7:00 Make pasta for dinner (a light cream sauce, with sun dried tomatoes, and gorgonzola)
For most of us, our days are filled with normal moments, and responsibilities. I like that normal can be a gift. Just being able to work, play, have that cup of coffee...all those things can be quite wonderful. I am thankful for normal.

Classic Class

"Being classy is not about being stuck up, but more so about
having a simply unique style that will never be forgotten.
To be classy is to have respect; respect for others, respect for
elders and most of all respect for yourself."
 ~Unknown.
A truly elegant taste is generally accompanied
with excellency of heart.
~ Henry Fielding
Elegance is something more than ease - more freedom
from awkwardness and restraint. It implies a precision, a polish and
a sparkling which is spirited, yet delicate.
