Pie

"Sometimes all your emotions are best released by simply making a pie" 
I have been baking a lot in the past two months. I have always found it 
easier to cook because I felt like I could be more creative and if I made 
a mistake, it was easier to fix or at least "cover up"...not so with baking. 
Baking is more of a science where I have to follow each step and if I try to
 take a "short cut" the result will be...well, a flop (literally and figuratively). 
But now...now I love baking. I love each step and as David Mamet said, 
"We must have pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie."

Chip

Today is National Potato Chip Day! Before this year,
 I would not have taken notice of this special day:) but since
 last June I have been working for a privately owned potato chip company. 
A whole new world of the spud has opened up to me!
I have  had so much fun tasting, tasting, and creating 
new photo ideas of our favorite snack. 
The Story Behind the Potato Chip.
An Irish chef named George Crum invented the potato chips in
 Saratoga Springs in 1853. One day, an overly picky customer 
kept sending his fried potatoes back to the kitchen, complaining
 that they were too thick and soggy. Mr. Crum responded by slicing
 the potatoes so thin that they wouldn't be able to be eaten with a fork. 
The customer was so pleased with Crum's crispy creation that they
 then became a regular item on the restaurant's menu!

I love Sundays.

no reason to rush; just to taste and enjoy.

Sweet Day

Paul had to work on Valentine's Day but at 9:00 a.m. he had his friend drop off this
 bouquet of flowers at my work...beautiful! 
 On Saturday morning he got up after working late and fixed me one of my 
favorite breakfasts~french toast...it was a sweet day indeed.
