Monday's Letter

Dear Monday,
You let me sleep in this morning
 (I know, normally Saturday
let's people sleep in, but you're
just good to me that way)...
You let me talk to my boyfriend
on the phone...
You gave me a great cup of coffee
that I could just sip, not have to
gulp down...
You've let me browse through
new recipes, be on pinterest,
read my favorite blogs...
it's not even noon and
it's already been a
sweet, and refreshing day.
Thank you.

Sincerely,
Libby
P.S. Thank you for the hamburgers
from Five Guys that my brother
is walking through the door with:)

*Thank you Open Spaces for this idea!

Lunch With Miss Margaret

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having lunch with Miss Margaret.
Miss Margaret is my 61 year old friend.
She makes me laugh...a lot.
Example:
Finding a place to eat yesterday
she said, "Libby, I'll eat anywhere
(besides the Olive Garden)
as long as I know what my
food was before it was killed."

She told me over lunch that
she use to love to watch boxing...
that one day she would like to go to Cuba...
and that she almost took her brand
new Infiniti back to the dealership
because she couldn't figure out how
to start it with the new push button.
She said,"I asked for one with just a
regular key, but they said, Ma'am  they
don't come like that now."
Thank you, Miss Margaret for being my friend.

Kitchen Daydreams

My schedule has been a little
 more busy recently but in
my mind, you can find
 me daydreaming about
farmer's markets,
gardening, and
 trying these
new recipes.

Dear Scott and Rachael...

I remember you (Rachael) saying
"Im not one of those brides who
doesn't eat" as we were sitting eating
lunch (having already gone to the
coffee shop earlier...we would later
stop one more time for coffee:)
I remember watching you get
ready and you were so calm
I remember your father's face when
he saw you in your wedding gown
I remember your (Scott) face when you saw
Rachael walking towards you
I remember feeling how much you
loved your families and how you
expressed that to them during the
reception
I remember watching the groomsmen
decorating your getaway truck:)
And I remember after you left,
thinking "that was an amazing,
and beautiful wedding"
Happy 2nd Anniversary my friends~

Turning Page (Sleeping at Last)

*I love when I find a song
that I can listen to over
and over again...
this is one of those songs.

i've waited a hundred years.
but i'd wait a million more for you. nothing prepared me for what the privilege of being yours would do
if i had only felt the warmth within your touch, if i had only seen how you smile when you blush,or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough,i would have known what i've been living for all along.
your love is my turning page, where only the sweetest words remain.every kiss is a cursive line, every touch is a redefining phrase.
i surrender who i've been for who you are, for nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart.if i had only felt how it feels to be yours, well, i would have known what I've been living for all along.what i've been living for.
though we're tethered to the story we must tell, when i saw you, well, i knew we'd tell it well.with a whisper, we will tame the vicious seas.
like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees.

Dancing

Sitting in downtown Portland (seems a lifetime ago)
at the bus stop, I sat next to a gentleman, holding a cane.
At first, he said nothing, and then he asked me where I
was from. He told me how he had met his wife in Japan.
He told me they had a daughter (who was all grown up
now, and a lawyer). He told me that his wife had been a
ballerina, and he told me that when his daughter was
little, he would dance with her by having her stand on
top of his feet. I love that story for many reasons, one of
them being it was about dance. I'm not a dancer (except
alone in my room, but please don't tell anyone) but I love
almost everything about dance. I still remember coming
home to be in a friend's wedding, and during the reception,
was able to get my dad to dance one song with me...
it made me so happy!
“A smile is a dance of the face but a dance is a smile of the body.”

"You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last."

Returning

Last week I returned
 from my va·ca·tion.
Everything I hoped
 it would be, it was,
and even more.
I saw my family,
ate great food,
played games,
stayed up late,
laughed...A LOT,
went swimming,
and best of all...
spent time with
 best friends.

va·ca·tion

1. a respite or a time of respite from something
2. a scheduled period during which activity is suspended
My definition:
1. a time spent with family & friends
2. a time of rest
3. a time to laugh, watch movies,
eat amazing food
4. a time that will make me
smile later on because it was
just that special.
To my wonderful readers:
I hope you are enjoying, or
will soon be enjoying your
own vacation.
I will share with you all
about my adventures
when I return home.
