Song of the Day (If I Die Young)

I love putting on the song"If I Die Young" by The Band Perry.
The lyrics, harmonies, and the purity of her voice make a beautiful song.
So here I am, my headphones on, listening to this song, singing
under my breath.
If I die young, bury me in satin
...Lay me down on a bed of roses
...So put on your best, boys and I'll wear my pearls

Sunday (Redeeming Ruth)

"Where you go, I will go;
where you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people,
and your God my God.
Where you die, I will die-
there will I be buried."
~Ruth
"All that you have done for your mother-in-law since the
death of your husband has been fully told me, and how
you left your father and mother and your native
land and came to a people that you did not know before.
May you have a full reward from the LORD, the God of Israel,
under whose wings you have come for refuge"
~Boaz
The book of Ruth is one of my favorite
stories found in the Bible.

Thinking of romance (This Modern Romance)

On my list of favorite photographers is: This Modern Romance
For me, just being able to look at beautiful
pictures is a moment in my day where time
stops for just a minute.
I hope you find something in your day today that does
the same for you...
(maybe a cup of coffee, a walk, putting on your favorite music...).
Happy Tuesday morning~
(Thank you to This Modern Romance for
all of your lovely photos)

Tangerine Tuesday

Spring is whispering in the air, which
normally makes me think of soft colors
(pastel pink, peach, pink, yellows)
but today I felt like something vibrant.
So I looked through photos labeled "Tangerine"
and these were some of my favorites.

Dressing for Saturday Morning

I love dresses. I love how a dress can make it feel like
you are going to do something special.
Now that I live in the south,
I've realized that a dress can be for looks and comfort
My mother always said color is good;
I think she would like these ones.

A Day for Women

Today is International Women's Day. How appropriate was it that I found myself, with the honor of, sharing lunch with three Italian women. Even though it was her own birthday today, Maria, our host, had set us a table filled with meats, cheeses, bowls of homemade pasta, and an apricot tart for dessert.
I loved listening to these three women talk to each other in their own native tongue. Each one a different age, different family history, different life experiences and each one uniquely beautiful in their own way.
"There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity."

On the Telephone

My mother has pictures of me talking on the telephone to my grandmother, when I was little. She told me I loved talking on the phone. We had the one with the round dial, that then transformed into one with push buttons and then finally when I was in my early twenties I got my own cell phone. I sometimes think, "I wonder what men and women who were born in the early 1900's must think of the cell phone?"
The telephone is something I am so use to having that
I don't realize the magic behind it.
“Mr. Watson, come here, I want you.” With these words, spoken by inventor Alexander Graham Bell into his experimental telephone on March 10, 1876, an industry was born. For down the hall, Bell’s assistant, Thomas Watson, distinctly heard Bell utter the first spoken sentence ever transmitted via electricity. That achievement was the culmination of an invention process Bell had begun at least four years earlier.
...From the telephone’s earliest days, Bell understood his invention’s vast potential. He wrote in 1878: “I believe in the future wires will unite the head offices of telephone companies in different cities, and a man in one part of the country may communicate by word of mouth with another in a distant place.”

Spring in the Kitchen

I don't know if it's cold and wintery where you live, but here, where I live, it feels like spring.
I am wearing sandals on my feet and there are daffodils bobbing their heads in the breeze.
Here is a preview of what spring could look like in your kitchen!
