Flashpoint (T.V. Series)

Each time I get finished watching an episode of Flashpoint,
I look forward to the next one to begin. Not only do I have one
person to cheer for, but a whole group.
They really are the good guys on this show.

Plot
"Flashpoint is about an elite tactical unit, called the
Strategic Response Unit (SRU),
within a Canadian metropolitan police force
The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that
regular officers are not trained to handle
including hostage-taking,
bomb threats and heavily armed criminals
Members use negotiation tactics and intuition to try to avoid the use of force."

Sleeping to Dream (by Jason Mraz)

I'm dreaming of sleeping next to you I'm feeling like a lost little boy in a brand new town
I'm counting my sheep and each one that passes is another dream to ashes
and they all fall down.
And as I lay me down tonight,
I close my eyes, what a beautiful sight
Sleeping to dream about you
And I'm so tired of having to live without you
But I don't mind.
Sleeping to dream about you and I'm so tired
I found myself in the riches (Your eyes, your lips, your hair.) And you were everywhere
I woke up in the ditches. I hit the light and I thought you might be here
but you were nowhere. (You were nowhere)
Well, you were nowhere at home.
As I lay me back to sleep
Lord I pray that I can keep
Sleeping to dream about you
And I'm so tired of having to live without you
Well, I don't mind
Sleeping to dream about you and I'm so tired
(Just a little a lullaby to keep myself from crying myself to sleep at night.)
Sleeping to dream about you
I'm so tired of having to live without you
Well, I don't mind

Sleeping to dream about you and I'm so tired

A Layer of Fall

I can  feel it beginning to turn into fall.
The days are shorter, the air is more crisp
and I've been anticipating wearing a scarf
and fall coat (and making apple cider).
So I found these coats on Tulle
to have you also
anticipate fall with me:)

Would you like S'more?

At the beginning of this summer I found out the lady I take care of had never had a S'more.
We got all the ingredients to make them and then roasted the marshmallows over her little grill.
She said, "It's very sweet. It's messy...it's very good"

Blooming

I love being able to use my hands to create things:
Cooking, painting, taking pictures and sewing.
My mother was the one who first taught me to sew on a button
(and that simple skill has proved more useful than I ever thought it would).
This summer I  designed and sewed two lace & tulle flowers.
One was  made for a bride-to-be for her hair.
The other one was made to either pin on my jacket
or put in my hair.

Hit 'Send'

“I turn on my computer. I wait patiently as it connects. I go online.

My breath catches in my chest until I hear 3 little words,

"You've got mail."

I hear nothing, not a sound on the streets of New York.

Just the beat of my own heart. I have

mail...from you.”

Kathleen Kelly (You've Got Mail)

I love receiving a hand-written letter or card in the mail...I also realized that I love receiving mail when I open my computer. I find it fascinating when I actually sit down and think about it, that I can receive or send words to another person who is half way around the word in a matter of seconds.
Really, how incredible is that?
So, I want to take more opportunities
to not only hand write a note but to type one out and
hit 'send'.

Jade

But what is of great importance to me is observation of the movement of colors.

Colors answer feeling in man; shapes answer thought; and motion answers will.

Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions.

I Love Lucy

"I Love Lucy" was an American television sitcom, starring Lucille BallDesi ArnazVivian Vance and William Frawley. The black-and-white series originally ran from October 15, 1951 to May 6, 1957 on CBS."

I have been getting the "I Love Lucy" show from my library and it has been so much fun!
I have found myself laughing so much.
My favorite things about the "I Love Lucy" show are:
1. That it's in black and white
2. The real laughter from the audience
3. The characters are very likable
4. Normal situations portrayed so humorously

Simple Things

"It is the sweet,
simple things of
life which are
the real ones
after all."
~Laura Ingalls Wilder
"To find the universal
elements enough;to
find the air and the
water exhilarating;
to be refreshed
by a morning walk or
an evening saunter...
to be thrilled by the
stars at night; to be
elated over a bird's
nest or a wildflower
in spring- these are
some of the rewards
of the simple life."

~John Burroughs
"The best things in life
are nearest:Breath in your
nostrils, light in your eyes,
flowers at your feet, duties
at your hand, the path of right
just before you. Then do not grasp
at the stars, but do life's plain,
common work as it comes, certain
that daily duties and daily
bread are the sweetest
things in life."

~Robert Louis Stevenson

Finding Treasures

Yesterday morning, I picked up my camera
and walked through Hyde Park. I
wandered into an antiques store that use to
be an old house and found a
new treasure.  The owner told me,
"I started the store when I was
young and stupid and believed
things would turn out. And it
did. I put two daughters
through college with
this store."
She has owned this beautiful
store for thirty years; I agree
with her, it did turn out.
